WordPress Web Design & Development
Why even the smallest business needs a website
Your website is your online business card. It tells your current and potential customers everything they need to know. It acts as a placeholder for important business information that you want your customers to be aware of. Your website also gives your customers a base where they can reach out to you or find information 24/7. It establishes trustworthiness and credibility.
Many small, mom & pop shop businesses run on a simple, lean operation. Sometimes, they believe that a website is a “luxury” expense that isn’t necessary for their particular business. I’m here to show you that investing in a website is in fact necessary and very affordable through me!
- Looks more professional
- Shows you take your business seriously
- Makes marketing a lot easier
- Establishes trustworthiness & credibility
- Increases potential customers and leads
- Opens up the amount of digital marketing tools you can use
Stop relying solely on third-party platforms like Facebook and Instagram
Some small businesses use Facebook or Instagram and believe that is enough to gain exposure and market themselves to locals or a broader audience. However, when your business is built on a third-party platform like Facebook, you are locked in and they then own your entire business platform. You do not. If guidelines change, or they decide for any reason that they want to kick you off of their platform, they can. If there’s a nationwide or worldwide outage (which just recently occurred), your only source of interacting digitally with your customers is completely gone. Your sole business platform could potentially be shut down without any input from you. When you build your brand on your own website platform, you are in full control.
Already have a website?
When is the last time the design was updated?
Technology is constantly changing. Screen sizes, web browsers, responsiveness & security needs are always transforming. This is why, it’s important to keep your website updated with the most up to date code, security and even make sure the design hasn’t fallen out of date. This keeps your business competitive and fresh in a highly competitive digital market.
From making small updates all the way to doing a complete redesign project, I can help you! If you’re not sure what you need, I offer full website audit reports where I will take a look at your websites backend to see what your website needs or may benefit from.
My Work Process
The first part of of my process is gathering information. We will have a consultation where I will ask questions to get an idea of what type of design and layout the client is looking for and what their goals are for their website. This is also where the client and I will make sure that the domain name, web hosting and wordpress is setup and ready.
Next we’ll work together to find design and layout inspiration. I’ll create an inspiration board which will become the foundation to how your website will be designed.
Once I have a solid understanding of my clients wants and needs and have collected the initial deposit, I begin the design process.
The design process begins with wireframing. Wireframing is basically the layout of your website pages without the colors, pictures or typography. Once the client agrees to the wireframe, I continue with the visual design and copy content (written material).
We will work together to ensure that the design is functional and aesthetically pleasing. Also, that the written material (copy) portrays the appropriate information for the needs of the business throughout the website.
The development process begins when the client is happy with the visual design and the copy is finished. Once final approval is given, I will proceed with developing the site. At this time, all appropriate plugins and software needed for the project will be installed and development begins.
The site is developed page by page and I will provide a link or screenshot for preview as each page is built.
A final preview is sent to the client once all of the pages are built inside WordPress. We will review the site together and make edits as necessary to ensure the site is exactly what the client envisioned.
After a final inspection and payment, I will push the website live!

F.A.Q.
I take on projects that typically start around $2,500.00 USD. The final price will depend on the client’s needs for digital and copy content, design and functionality.
I provide a 20% discount to non-profits, charities and military veteran owned businesses.
If budget is an issue, I offer templated website builds starting at $500. These builds still offer some customizable options, but will not be designed from scratch.
Let me know what type of project you’re planning via the contact form and I can get you a more detailed quote.
The process typically takes anywhere between 2-10 weeks. This will depend on the size and scope of the website and also the different revisions that may need to be made to get the result the client is looking for.
You do! Once you pay for the site, you own it!
I can make you a full admin and you can remove me completely if you like. Even if you sign up for the monthly web maintenance service, the site still belongs to you.
The only thing I want from your completed website, is to use it in my portfolio if I wish.
Absolutely! Because I use the most up to date software and applications, you’ll be able to easily update content like text and images within your page.
If doing site edits yourself doesn’t sound like something you are interested in, I offer monthly web maintenance packages that include updates and minor edits each month.
Outside of my monthly maintenance service, I also provide changes or edits at an hourly service rate.
Most small businesses reserve their domain name before or soon after filing their Certificate of Organization. If you haven’t done so yet, I can help you.
If you aren’t sure of a hosting provider that you want to use, I recommend Inmotion Hosting custom WordPress hosting. WordPress is automatically downloaded and included with this package. If you need help with set up for your hosting, I can help with this also! Please contact me through my contact form or send me an email.
I mostly accept checks and Venmo payments. However, I will also accept PayPal payments with an additional fee.
